Why Locals Love Ting n Ting

Ting n Ting is a vibrant Caribbean and Indian restaurant nestled in the heart of London SW19, at Unit 2, The Pavilion, 2 Watermill Way. As you step inside, you’re embraced by a warm, rustic ambiance inspired by authentic Caribbean home decor, instantly transporting you to sun-drenched islands with their rich cultural heritage and soulful flavors.

The menu at Ting n Ting is a delightful fusion of Caribbean classics and Indian influences, thoughtfully curated to satisfy both adventurous palates and those seeking comforting familiarity. Popular dishes include their succulent Jerk Chicken Patty, the tender and flavorful Peppered Steak, and the irresistible Saltfish Patty, each bursting with perfectly balanced spices and herbs that evoke the essence of the Caribbean. Don't miss the hearty Oxtail stew, a personal favorite praised for its generous portions and melt-in-your-mouth texture.

For a true tasting journey, indulge in the “Patty and...” combinations, like Patty and Coco Bread or Patty and Fried Plantain, which perfectly marry crispy, flaky pastry with sweet, caramelized plantains or soft coco bread. The Sweet Potato Wedges and Fried Dumplings make delightful sides, offering a satisfying contrast in both texture and flavor. Accompany your meal with tropical drinks such as fresh orange juice or the refreshing, creamy soursop, or enjoy a classic Caribbean lager like Red Stripe — a perfect complement to the bold tastes on your plate.

What truly elevates the dining experience at Ting n Ting is the caring and infectious hospitality of Garfield, the proprietor and chef, whose warmth fills the space alongside the upbeat soca music playing in the background. The atmosphere is inviting and joyful, evoking feelings of family and celebration. Diners frequently remark on feeling right at home, with this sense of connection making every visit memorable.

Reviews from guests echo this sentiment: “Just had the most delicious oxtail meal here! Portion was great value for money and Garfield made the whole experience wonderful with sweet soca music in the background!” shares Am Oke, while Charlotte L fondly recalls the friendly atmosphere where her son felt so welcomed that he eagerly anticipated every return visit. Jyk Wong highlights the rustic charm and generous hospitality, recommending the jerk chicken, peppered steak, fried snapper, and mutton curry as standout dishes.

The only mild critique comes from Ruth C, who applauds the jerk chicken as the best she’s tasted globally but suggests a minor improvement in staff dress code for enhanced hygiene. It’s worth noting that the quality and flavor consistently win raves, and loyal diner Vanessa continues to return despite noticing slightly smaller portions recently, drawn by the unbeatable combination of food, service, and convivial vibe.

Whether you’re craving the bold, smoky heat of jerk seasoning, the delicate sweetness of fried plantains, or an authentic taste of Caribbean street food in the heart of London, Ting n Ting promises a lively, authentic experience full of heart and flavor that invites you to linger, savor, and return time and again.

Love Garfield and his cooking, service, hospitality and atmosphere. I would like to see this wonderful place open more and the only little thing I would say that's not going to stop me going back for more are the portions have been smaller lately. The food is always good. We cycle to meet friends and I have always had a fantastic time at Ting and Ting.

Relaxed dining. Rustic ambience, homespun interior inspired by Caribbean home decor. Top marks for the proprietor+chef, an affable good-humoured character who offered us a free mango at the end of our meal. We tried their tasty Caribbean delights - jerk chicken, peppered steak, fried snapper and mutton curry plus a selection of patties, all mouthwateringly good! Fairly priced. Will do a repeat visit and work down their menu!

Delicious, best jerk chicken and I’ve had it all over, internationally. BUT.. boss needs to have his help wear sleeved shirt. The sleeveless white undershirt is not sanitary.

Ting n Ting is a great lunch spot with the sun out. The jerk chicken is so cook with rice & pea. The owner is also very relaxed and chatty. The food feels homely and little exclusive as it’s away from the busy river area. The portions are worth the price and you will not leave hungry. Great for a group of friends, birthday or a place to hang out.
